Sounds of Democracy- September 17, 2026

Join us on September 17 for an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and community at this year's Sounds of Democracy, featuring Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier.

Only 100 people will experience Sounds of Democracy this year. Set in a stunning private home on Monte Sano, this intimate evening is unlike any other event in Alabama—bringing together exceptional music, thoughtful conversation, and people committed to building a stronger future for our state.

Your evening begins with a VIP champagne reception before settling in for an intimate performance by Mary Gauthier. Throughout the night, you'll enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres, carefully curated wines, meaningful conversation, and the rare opportunity to experience live music in a setting few people ever will.

More than a memorable evening, Sounds of Democracy is Persist Alabama's final fundraising event before the midterms. Every sponsorship or ticket is an investment in the candidates who will shape Alabama's future—helping provide the resources they need to compete and win in November.

Widely regarded as one of America's finest songwriters, Mary Gauthier has spent her career telling stories of resilience, justice, belonging, and hope. Her songwriting is so respected that artists including Tim McGraw, Jimmy Buffett, Blake Shelton, Kathy Mattea, and Boy George have recorded her work.

Her Grammy-nominated album Rifles & Rosary Beads, co-written with veterans and military families, helped tell stories of service, sacrifice, and healing that too often go unheard. Mary's music embodies the same values that drive Persist Alabama: the belief that every voice matters, every story has power, and change happens when people come together and refuse to be silenced.

With only 100 seats available, tickets and sponsorships won't last long. Get your tickets or become a sponsor today and be part of a powerful evening for a great cause. We hope you'll be one of the 100.
